Make an
impact today

Join us on our journey helping to build a community where everyone is connected, knowledgeable, and supported in the digital world.

Together, we can empower every individual to thrive online.

Why give?

  • Maximize Every Device: Cash donations help us buy essential parts like new batteries, chargers, or replacement hard drives to make donated devices complete and ready for use.

  • Bridge the Digital Divide: You can directly provide individuals in our community with the essential technology they need to access education, employment, and vital services.

  • Fund the "Refurb" in Refurbishing: Your contribution pays for the expert technical work and software needed to securely wipe, repair, and prepare every device for its new owner.

 FAQs

  • Yes! Through the Trees is a 501(c)(3) organization. All financial contributions and in-kind device donations are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. We will provide a donation receipt for your records.

  • We will provide you with a donation acknowledgment receipt when you donate your device(s). This receipt will list the items you donated (e.g., "1 laptop," "2 smartphones"). Per IRS guidelines, it is the donor's responsibility to determine the fair market value of your in-kind donation for your tax purposes.

  • Thank you for your support! Monetary donations are crucial for our mission. You can make a secure gift:

    • Online: [Here]

    • By Mail: Checks can be made payable to "Through the Trees" and mailed to PO Box 121, Brevard, NC 28712

  • Device donations are the heart of our mission, but cash donations are what keep it beating. A donated laptop often needs a new $40 battery, a $20 charger, or a $30 hard drive to be truly useful. Your financial gift directly pays for the parts and software needed to turn a donated device into a complete, work-ready device.

    • Purchase replacement parts (batteries, screens, chargers, etc.).

    • Buy software licenses to ensure all computers are legal and secure.

    • Pay for our secure data-wiping and refurbishing tools.

    • Cover the operational costs of our program, allowing us to help more people.
